How Do I Add the Knock Tag to My Website?

Adding the Knock Tag helps you identify high-intent visitors and pinpoint the best locations for Knock engagement buttons.

Why Add the Knock Tag

  • Detect where visitors engage most on your site.
  • Identify high-intent CTAs and marketing assets.
  • Ensure seamless Knock button placement for maximum conversions.
  • Activate the Knock Chat Widget in the selected pages

How to Add the Knock Tag

The Knock Tag is lightweight, loads after the page, and won’t impact your site’s performance.

It is not recommended to inject the Knock Tag via Google Tag Manager, as many browsers now block third-party scripts loaded through GTM.

For best performance and full functionality (including the Knock Modal and Chat Widget), you should add the Knock Tag directly into your site’s HTML, ideally in the <head> section.

Steps to Deploy the Knock Tag in GTM

  1. Log in to your Google Tag Manager account.
  2. Click ‘Create a New Tag’ and select Custom HTML.
  3. Paste the Knock Tag into the HTML field.
  4. Set triggers to fire the tag on all pages.
  5. Click Save & Publish.

That’s it! Knock is now live on your website, tracking visitor engagement in real time.
