How to Analyze Attribution Performance with Knock
Understanding which marketing channels actually drive pipeline is critical—but traditional attribution is often incomplete. Knock makes attribution analysis simple by tracking every touchpoint a lead interacts with, from the first click to closed revenue.
Why Attribution Works Better with Knock
Most B2B funnels rely on forms, cookies, and disconnected tools—making it hard to connect clicks to real outcomes. Knock solves this by:
- Skipping forms and identifying leads in real time
- Tracking every Knock Link at the touchpoint level
- Syncing full attribution data into your CRM automatically
This gives you a complete, reliable picture of which touchpoints and campaigns are driving qualified leads and revenue.
Where to Access Attribution Data
- Open the Knock Dashboard
- Navigate to the Knock Connection Report
Step 1: Apply Filters to Focus Your Analysis
At the top of the Connection Report, use filters to refine your view:
- Time Range
- CRM Fields / Lead Stage
Select a time window (e.g., Last 30 Days). This shows leads who clicked Knock links during that period.
Filter for specific lead types—such as only those in Sales Qualified Lead (SQL) or Opportunity stages. This helps focus on real pipeline, not noise.
Step 2: Review Touchpoint-Level Performance
Each row in the report represents a Knock-powered touchpoint (e.g., a homepage CTA, LinkedIn ad, email link).
For each touchpoint, you’ll see:
- Clicks – Number of users who clicked the Knock Link
- Engaged – Users who started a conversation with your team
- Connections – Leads that entered your CRM (based on your filters)
📌 Knock attributes leads to the first touchpoint they clicked, ensuring clean, single-touch attribution by default.
Step 3: Drill Down Into Touchpoint Data
Click on any touchpoint row to see:
- A full list of contacts who clicked
- Their company and contact details
- Their CRM stage and activity history
This gives you both high-level performance insights and contact-level context.
Attribution Fields Synced to Your CRM
Knock automatically adds detailed attribution data to every accepted lead in your CRM:
Knock: Source
– e.g., Website, LinkedIn, EmailKnock: Medium
– e.g., Organic, Paid, DirectKnock: Touchpoint
– The custom name you assign when creating the Knock Link
If your Knock Link includes UTM parameters, these are also synced:
Knock: UTM Campaign
Knock: UTM Content
This enables full-funnel reporting inside Salesforce, HubSpot, or any connected CRM.
Compare Performance Between Knock and Traditional Forms
You can use Knock to compare your form-based funnel vs. your Knock flow—without needing to run a formal A/B test.
What you can compare in the Knock Dashboard:
- Click-through rate (CTR) for each CTA
- Conversation rate – how many users started a chat vs. dropped off at a form
- Lead-to-CRM conversion rate – how many contacts became qualified leads
- Pipeline impact – revenue or deal stages associated with each source
This helps you understand whether Knock delivers more qualified leads and better conversion rates than your current forms.
