How to Find and Fix Lead Leakage on Your Website

The Leakage Analysis report in Knock dashboard shows you exactly where and why you’re losing high-intent leads on your website—so you can fix it fast.

It helps you pinpoint the pages, CTAs, and funnel steps where drop-off happens, and recommends where to replace forms or broken flows with Knock buttons.

How to Access the Leakage Analysis Report

  1. Open your Knock Dashboard
  2. From the sidebar, select Website Leakage Analysis on the side bar

Step 1: Apply Filters to Focus Your Analysis

Use filters to focus on the traffic and actions that matter most to your pipeline:

  • Time Range – Analyze website performance over a specific timeframe (e.g., last 7 days, last 30 days).
  • Company HQ Location – Filter by the geographic region of the companies visiting your site to spot regional patterns or opportunities.
  • Conversion CTAs – Knock tracks key conversion actions across your site. Use this filter to analyze how each one performs:
    • Book a Demo
    • Watch Live Demo
    • Product Signup
    • Contact Us
    • Knock Buttons (click-to-chat/meeting CTAs)

Step 2: Review Key Metrics

Use these metrics to understand how well your website is converting—and where you’re losing leads:

  • Unique Visitors Who Clicked a Conversion Action
  • Click-Through Rate (CTR) on Conversion Actions
  • Leaked Visitors – Users who clicked a CTA but dropped off before becoming a lead

🎯 Our Goal: Reduce leakage and increase high-intent engagement over time.

Step 3: Compare Conversion Action Performance

Analyze how different CTAs perform across your site:

  • Click Volume – Which CTAs get the most engagement?
  • Lead Generation – Which CTAs convert the most leads into CRM records?
  • Revenue Impact – Identify CTAs linked to higher deal value
  • Performance Table – View impressions, clicks, CTR, leads, and leakage

🔦 What to Do with This Data:

  • Double down on conversion actions that drive qualified pipeline
  • Fix or replace CTAs that have high leakage
  • Consider removing actions with low or zero CTR

Step 4: Identify High- and Low-Performing Pages

Drill down into page-level performance:

  • Top Pages by Traffic – Where your visitors are landing
  • Top Pages by CTA Clicks – Where conversion actions are working
  • Highest CTR Pages – Where you're converting best
  • Lead-Generating Pages – Which pages drive real pipeline
  • Pages Causing the Most Lead Leakage – Where buyers start to convert but drop off

Every data point is clickable—view the companies behind each number in a modal for deeper insights.

🔧 Optimization Tips:

  1. Sort by leakage to find pages losing the most leads
  2. Sort by CTR = 0% to identify pages with zero engagement
  3. Identify high-performing pages and push more traffic to them

Step 5: Optimize CTA Copy to Increase Conversions

Knock helps you analyze how different CTA copy variations perform.

For example, a "Book a Demo" button may appear as:

  • “See a Demo”
  • “Get Started”
  • “Meet with Sales”
  • “Get a Demo”
  • “Talk to a Product Expert”

Key Insights:

  • Which version gets the most clicks?
  • Which version drives the most leads?
  • Which version causes the most drop-off?

Every result is interactive—click to view the actual companies behind the numbers.

🔄 Action Steps:

  1. Sort by leakage to spot poor-performing variations
  2. Remove or rewrite CTAs with low or zero CTR
  3. Reuse high-CTR copy across your site to increase conversions
