Written by Knock Team • Last updated: Dec 19, 2025Version: v1.0

Who this is for: Marketers, RevOps, SDR leaders

What you’ll achieve: Qualify faster, route correctly, keep CRM clean

What Marketers and RevOps Get

  • Automatic contact & company enrichment the moment a chat starts
  • Intent detection that classifies chats as Buying, Support, Partnership, Job Seeker, or Spam
  • Structured insights extracted from the conversation itself
  • Smart routing to the right human or AI only, based on fit and intent
  • Instant CRM sync for scoring, workflows, and reporting

How It Works

1) Chat starts → AI greets and collects signals

  • Knock AI welcomes the lead and captures identity hints from the message, link context, and prior visits
  • No forms needed and no back-and-forth just to learn who they are

2) Real-time enrichment runs automatically

Knock AI enriches from first-party data, public sources, and your CRM. You’ll see in Slack and the dashboard:

Contact enrichment

  • Full name and verified business email
  • Role, seniority, LinkedIn profile
  • Location and time zone

Company enrichment

  • Company name, domain, LinkedIn page
  • Employee size, industry, HQ/regions
  • Funding and revenue signals when available

Attribution context

  • Source and channel, UTM parameters, referring page
  • Knock AI Link name to understand placement or campaign

3) Intent detection

  • The first message and on-site behavior determine Intent Type: Buying, Support, Partnership, Job Seeker, Spam
  • Intent Score based on all intent signals detected

4) Route and alert the right people

  • Knock AI applies your chat routing rules and posts the lead to the rule’s Monitoring Slack channel
  • Notifies the Rep Owner and, if you choose, the CRM Owner
  • If AI is provisional owner, anyone in the Monitoring channel can reply and the first human becomes owner

5) Sync to CRM for scoring and workflows

  • Enriched fields write to mapped properties in Salesforce/HubSpot
  • Use them in lead scoring, lifecycle automation, and attribution reports

What Knock AI Extracts From the Conversation

Knock AI structures details the lead shares inside chat, so reps don’t have to interview:

  • Product interest or feature they care about
  • Use case and urgency
  • Competitors considered
  • Existing tools or stack mentions
  • Budget clues
  • Objections
  • Next-step preference such as book a demo or continue async

These are saved as structured fields you can use in routing and CRM.

Limitations and requirements

  • Scope: Enrichment is included for all leads who connect through Knock.
  • Forms: If you also want Knock to enrich form fillers who didn’t come through a Knock Link, that’s available at additional cost.

Edit Lead Info Manually (from Slack)

If you need to correct or add details, you can update the record without breaking automation.

From the chat thread

  1. Click the overflow (⋯) on the lead card
  2. Choose Edit lead info
  3. Select the field to update
  4. Save

What happens next

  • Knock AI re-triggers enrichment using your update
  • The new data syncs to CRM according to your field mapping
  • Example: you add a LinkedIn URL → Knock AI refreshes role, company, and other profile data automatically
