Create a New Meeting Routing
Knock lets you create multiple Meeting Routing configurations to support different use cases - like webinars, ABM campaigns, strategic accounts, or region-specific scheduling. Each scheduling link can be tied to its own unique routing logic.
Before You Start At least one rep must have a connected calendar to receive meetings.

Default Routing Behavior
When you first start using Knock Scheduling, a default routing is automatically created for you. All scheduling links are assigned to this default routing unless you select a different one.
This makes it easy to get started - but as your needs evolve, you can create new routings for specific campaigns, teams, or segments.
How to Create a New Routing
Step 1: Create a Routing Configuration
- Go to the Knock Dashboard.
- Open the Meeting Routing tab.
- Click the routing dropdown at the top of the page.
- Select New Routing.
- Enter a name for the routing configuration.
- Click Save.
This creates a separate routing configuration.
Your default routing remains unchanged.
Step 2: Create a Routing Rule
- Select the routing configuration from the dropdown.
- Click Add Rule (or equivalent UI action).
- Define the lead segment criteria.
You can filter by:
- Company size
- Industry
- Region
- CRM fields (lifecycle stage, owner, status, custom fields)
Save the rule once the segment is defined.
If a lead does not match any rule, they will not be able to book a meeting.
Step 3: Assign Reps
- Within the routing rule, select one or more reps.
- Reps are selected from Slack members.
If a rep has not connected their calendar:
- You can invite them to connect it.
- They will be skipped until their calendar is connected.
The rule becomes active automatically once a calendar is connected.
Step 4: Select Booking Logic
If multiple reps are assigned, choose one booking logic option:
- Any Calendar – shows availability from all assigned reps.
- Round-Robin – automatically selects one rep.
- All Calendars Must Be Free – shows only shared availability.
Booking logic applies only within the rule where it is configured.
Step 5: Set Meeting Duration
Within the routing rule: Select the meeting duration.
Available options:
- 15 minutes
- 30 minutes
- 45 minutes
- 60 minutes
Step 6: Connect a Scheduling Link
- Open the Knock app in Slack.
- Click Generate Knock Link.
- Select:
- Medium
- Engagement method (Scheduling)
- Routing name – select your custom routing
- Name the link for tracking.
- Copy and share the link.
The link will now follow the selected routing configuration.
How Routing Is Applied
When a lead clicks the scheduling link:
- Routing rules evaluate lead and CRM data.
- If a rule matches, assigned rep(s) and booking logic apply.
- If no rule matches, booking is blocked.
Using multiple routing configurations allows you to optimize scheduling for each use case - ensuring leads are matched with the right reps, at the right time, based on the context of their journey.
