The Website Leakage Report

Knock AI’s website leakage analysis shows where buyers demonstrate intent on your website but fail to convert. It connects website behavior, buyer identity, conversion paths, and pipeline data so you can see where demand is being lost and which changes could generate more deals from your existing traffic.

Instead of looking only at traffic or page-level conversion rates, Knock analyzes the complete path from intent to deal and identifies specific opportunities your team can act on.

What is website leakage?

Website leakage happens when a visitor shows clear intent to engage with your company but drops before completing the conversion.

For example, a buyer may:

  • Click Contact sales but abandon the form.
  • Click Request a Demo but never schedule.
  • Visit a high-intent pricing page but leave without engaging.
  • Click an ad but bounce from the landing page.

Knock AI tracks these moments so you can distinguish visitors who simply browsed your website from buyers who tried to take action and were lost during the conversion process.

Why does website leakage analysis matter?

Traditional website analytics can tell you that a page has a 32% conversion rate. They usually do not tell you enough about the 68% who did not convert. You may not know whether those visitors actually intended to buy. You may also not know whether the people who converted were qualified to become deals.

Knock AI helps you separate visitors who came to your website with buying intent from visitors who arrived for other reasons, such as research, support, recruiting, or general information. This lets your team focus the analysis on the visitors who were actually evaluating your product or considering a purchase.

Knock AI also connects website actions to revenue metrics, including deals and pipeline. A conversion does not necessarily mean that the person was qualified to become a deal. By connecting website behavior to downstream revenue outcomes, Knock helps you understand which actions are associated with qualified opportunities and pipeline, rather than treating every conversion as equally valuable.

The analysis helps you answer questions such as:

  • Where are high-intent buyers dropping?
  • Which pages generate the most buying intent?
  • Which conversion CTAs attract buyers but lose them afterward?
  • Which forms or scheduling flows create the most friction?
  • Which visitors came with an intent to buy versus another type of intent?
  • Who are the buyers behind the leakage?
  • Which ICP groups are being lost?
  • Which conversions are associated with qualified opportunities or deals?
  • Which website actions contribute to pipeline and revenue?
  • Which website changes could generate additional deals?
  • How much pipeline could those changes create?

This lets you focus on the buyers most likely to become customers, connect website activity to meaningful revenue outcomes, and recover existing demand before spending more to generate new traffic.

What does the website leakage report include?

Buying Intent Visitors

Buying Intent Visitors shows the number of visitors (human) who demonstrated a meaningful conversion or buying signal during the selected period. This helps you understand the amount of real demand already reaching your website rather than measuring all website traffic equally.

Converted

Converted shows how many of those visitors completed the expected conversion.

Depending on the conversion path, this could include actions such as completing a request, booking a meeting, or successfully starting the intended engagement.

Use this metric to compare the demand reaching your website with the demand that actually progresses.

Leaked

Leaked shows buyers who demonstrated intent to convert but dropped before completing the conversion path.

This is the demand your team has the opportunity to recover.

Click into leakage metrics where available to inspect the people and accounts Knock reveal behind the number.

Knock allows you to run outreach workflows for this audience to try to engage them back.

Pipeline Value

Pipeline Value connects the website conversion analysis to pipeline impact.

Instead of optimizing only for clicks or form completion, you can understand which website experiences are associated with deals and pipeline.

This helps prioritize changes based on potential business impact.

Which conversion paths drive the most pipeline?

The conversion path table shows how buyers perform across each major point of intent on your website.

Examples can include:

  • Live Demo
  • Book a Demo
  • Contact Us
  • Chat with Sales

For each conversion path, Knock can show the clicks, leakage, conversions, and pipeline generated.

Use this table to compare conversion efficiency, leakage, and revenue impact in the same view.

A CTA with many clicks is not necessarily your best-performing CTA. If it also has significant leakage, it may represent one of your largest opportunities to increase pipeline.

Which pages generate the most intent?

Knock AI breaks down conversion behavior by page so you can identify where buyers are most likely to take action.

Pages with the highest click-through rate

Pages with the highest click-through rate identifies the pages where the highest percentage of visitors click a conversion CTA.

This helps you find the pages creating the strongest intent to engage.

For example, a pricing page may generate fewer total visits than your homepage but have a much higher percentage of visitors attempting to contact sales.

Pages with the highest leakage rate

Pages with the highest leakage rate identifies pages where visitors click a conversion CTA but fail to complete the next step.

This is especially important because these buyers have already demonstrated intent.

A page can therefore have both:

  • Strong CTA engagement
  • Poor final conversion

For each page, you can review metrics such as: Visits, Clicks, Leaked, Converted, Deals.

Which CTA copy performs best?

Knock also analyzes the button or CTA copy buyers interact with.

Button copy with the highest click-through rate

This view shows which CTA messages generate the highest engagement.

Use this report to understand which calls to action are most effective at creating buyer intent.

Button copy with the highest leakage rate

High click-through rate does not always mean high conversion.

The leakage view shows CTA copy that successfully attracts a buyer but sends them into an experience where a large percentage fail to convert.

This can reveal an important distinction:

The CTA may be working. The experience after the click may be the problem.

For each button copy, you can review metrics such as: Visits, Clicks, Leaked, Converted, Deals.

See the buyers behind your leakage

Knock does not stop at reporting anonymous percentages.

Where Knock can identify or enrich the visitor, you can investigate the buyers and companies behind your leakage.

This helps you understand questions such as:

  • Were these visitors part of your ICP?
  • Were strategic accounts among the buyers you lost?
  • Had they engaged with your company before?
  • What was their buying intent?
  • Which page or CTA did they interact with?
  • Did they later create a meeting, conversation, opportunity, or deal?

Knock can use its identity and enrichment data to turn an anonymous website drop-off into an audience your team can understand and act on with Knock outreach workflows.

How does Knock Generates Pipeline Recommendations?

Knock uses the leakage analysis to surface specific opportunities for improving conversion.

The What could you change? section prioritizes high-impact recommendations identified from your report.

Recommendations can include:

  • Replace a Book a Demo form with Knock Scheduling on a page with significant form leakage.
  • Update the button copy on a non-performing page to use the CTA copy that converts best across comparable pages.
  • Replace Talk to Sales with a Knock Chat Button where visitors want immediate access to your team.
  • Replace a non-performing landing page with a higher-converting landing page that better matches visitor intent.
  • Create outreach workflows for leaked buyers that Knock identifies after they leave.
  • Start real-time outreach after an existing form submission instead of waiting for a manual follow-up.

Each recommendation is tied to a specific conversion problem identified in the underlying data.

Where available, Knock also estimate the additional deals could contribute so your team can prioritize changes by potential pipeline impact.

Example: finding leakage on a pricing page

Imagine 821 high-intent buyers visit your pricing page.

Knock identifies that only 12% complete the expected conversion.

The useful insight is not simply that the page has a 12% conversion rate. The analysis shows:

  1. Which visitors showed intent.
  2. Where they attempted to convert.
  3. At which step they dropped.
  4. Which people and companies were behind the leakage.
  5. What experience could replace the leaking conversion path.

For example, Knock may recommend adding a Knock Chat Button so a buyer can immediately start a conversation instead of leaving the page.

Example: finding leakage after Book a Demo

A buyer clicking Book a Demo is one of the clearest expressions of buying intent on a B2B website.

Knock measures what happens after that click.

If a significant percentage of those buyers never finish the form or scheduling flow, the problem is no longer generating intent. The website is losing intent that already exists.

Knock can recommend replacing the leaking form with Knock Scheduling or another direct engagement experience so buyers can progress immediately.

How should I use the report?

Start with the largest gaps between buyer intent and completed conversion.

Prioritize opportunities where:

  1. A large number of buyers show intent.
  2. Leakage is high.
  3. The audience matches your ICP.
  4. The current conversion experience creates unnecessary friction.
  5. Recovering the demand could materially affect deals or pipeline.

Then activate the recommended Knock experience and compare performance over time.

The goal is not necessarily to maximize every CTA click. The goal is to turn more of the demand you already generate into qualified relationships and pipeline.
