Knock AI for Events
Events are expensive. The goal should not be to come home with another list of MQLs.
The goal is to generate pipeline.
The challenge is that events create a unique moment of buying intent that is very difficult to recreate afterward.
At an event, buyers are in a focused environment. They came to learn, discover new solutions, meet people, and have conversations. There are fewer of the usual day-to-day distractions, which makes this one of the best opportunities to create real momentum with a potential buyer.
Then the event ends.
They go home. Their inbox is full. Meetings start again. Family, tasks, deadlines, and their normal job take over. The solution they were excited about two days ago suddenly becomes much less urgent.
You can send ten follow-up emails, but once the momentum is gone, rebuilding it is difficult.
The strategy:
The most effective event strategy is to avoid starting from zero after the event.
Instead of collecting a lead and hoping they respond later, create a direct relationship while you are already together.
Connect the buyer directly with your team through LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Slack, or another messaging channel. Start the conversation while the interaction is still fresh.
After the event, you are no longer another company following up with a lead.
You are continuing an existing conversation.
That is a very different starting point.
Knock AI is designed to make this relationship creation part of every event touchpoint.
In this document, you’ll learn:
- Best practices for using Knock at events to generate more pipeline
- How to analyze event performance after the event ends
The Knock Event Checklist
1. Booth
Create a scheduling link for your booth and copy its QR code from the dashboard. When creating the link, select the event medium and name it after the event and specific location, such as the booth. This will help you analyze the results later.
For more information, see [Create a scheduling link].
From there:
- The meeting is synced to your CRM.
- The right rep becomes the owner.
- A direct outreach message can be triggered from that rep.
- The relationship begins while the prospect is still at the booth.
- Personalized follow-up continue automatically (emails).
Make sure to review reps’ availability in the Knock Simulator before the event. Confirm their calendars include bookable slots in the event’s local time zone.
For more information, see Managing rep availability, Configuring event time zones, and Using the Knock Simulator.
2. Speaker slide
Speaking sessions create some of the strongest intent at an event.
Someone has just spent 20 minutes listening to your point of view. If they have a question or want to continue the conversation, make the next action immediate.
Add a QR code to your slides with a simple CTA such as: DM me, Chat with our team
Instead of sending the audience to your website, the QR code can open a direct conversation through Slack, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, or another supported messaging experience.
This makes the speaker accessible while interest is highest.
When someone starts a conversation, Knock can:
- Identify and enrich the person.
- Understand their company and ICP fit.
- Route the conversation to the right member of your team.
- Let an AI agent respond immediately when your team is busy.
- Allow a human rep to join the conversation when relevant.
- Sync the contact, conversation, and qualification context to your CRM.
To create your chat link for the event, create a new chat link and include event info for analysis.
When creating the link, select the event medium and name it after the event and specific content.
3. Swags
Swag does not need to be only brand awareness.
Give every event its own Knock marketing card and connect it to a QR code printed on your swag, booth materials, cards, or giveaways.
When someone scans it, they can open a mobile-first experience designed specifically for that event.
The card can include:
- A short explanation of your company.
- Event-specific messaging.
- Relevant content.
- A way to message your team.
- A way to book a meeting.
- Additional resources for that audience.
Instead of investing hours in an event landing page, give attendees a mobile-first card experience that puts all the essential information in one simple, highly converting, and easily shareable card.
The same card can be shared beyond the original recipient, giving your event content another opportunity to reach colleagues and other members of the buying committee.
To create your event card, open the dashboard and go to Card.
4. Near the Event
Your event strategy does not need to stop at your booth.
Use signage, screens, sponsored areas, printed materials, parties, dinners, and event advertising to invite attendees to start a conversation.
The CTA should feel native to the environment:
Have a question? Message us.
Want to talk security? DM our team.
Tell us what you're trying to solve.
Because Knock can qualify and manage conversations with AI, you do not need to worry about every interaction immediately reaching a sales rep.
Create an event-specific AI welcome message that feels relevant to where the person is.
For example:
"Hey! Hope you're enjoying the Red Hat event and surviving the heat 😀. What brought you here, and is there anything specific you're looking to solve?"
The AI agent can continue the conversation, understand intent, enrich the person, answer questions in any supported language, and involve a human when the relationship becomes commercially relevant.
This lets you make your company accessible across the entire event without overwhelming the sales team.
5. Personal Scheduling Link
Every sales rep attending the event should have their personal Knock scheduling link ready before the event starts. They can access it from their Personal Hub, generate a QR code.
Once the prospect books:
- The meeting is added directly to the relevant rep's calendar.
- The contact and meeting information are synced to your CRM.
- Knock trigger a LinkedIn connection and personalized outreach from the rep in real time.
- The prospect can accept and reply while the conversation is still fresh.
The relationship started 👏 Now your rep can take this relationship and turn it into revenue.
While competitors chase the lead over email after the event, your team already has an active relationship and a direct line of communication.
The objective is simple: do not leave the event with a meeting booked but no relationship established.
What happens after the event?
This is where the strategy becomes especially valuable.
Traditionally, the event ends with a spreadsheet:
437 leads collected.
Then marketing uploads them to the CRM, sales starts sending emails, and everyone waits to see which leads respond.
With Knock AI, the event can end with something much more valuable:
437 active relationships.
What syncs to your CRM
Knock keeps the information your sales and marketing teams need to act on each relationship, including:
- Which rep the person connected with.
- Which content or event touchpoint started the interaction.
- Their role, company information, and ICP fit.
- Their CRM and relationship history.
- The next action in the relationship.
Knock also captures attribution for every click and conversion and adds it to your CRM. Attribution is based on the channel and source configured for each link. You can also add UTM parameters to each lead-generation link to control the attribution data collected and understand exactly which campaigns, channels, and sources are driving engagement.
This keeps your contact and attribution data synced with your CRM, so your team can continue working from the systems they already use.
What you can analyze in the Knock dashboard
The Knock dashboard gives you a separate view of event performance and relationship activity. You can track the sales cycle in real time and see how many of those relationships turn into opportunities.
Open the Knock connection report, filter the medium to Events, and you’ll see:
- Which strategies worked best at the event.
- Which content and touchpoints drove the most engagement.
- Which reps created the most active relationships.
- Which audiences were most likely to convert.
- Where relationships are progressing or getting stuck.
The principle to remember
A lead record does not preserve momentum.
A relationship can.
The buyer should leave the event already connected to your rep, and already able to continue the conversation from the messaging app they use every day.
Your reps should not spend the week after the event trying to recreate relationships they could have established while everyone was still in the same room.
Create the relationship at the event. Keep the momentum alive afterward. Turn the event into pipeline.
